Iowa Energy

The Iowa Energy joined the NBA D-League as an expansion team in 2007 . The team was originally affiliated with the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls but for the 2012-2013 season  it will be affiliated with the Washington Wizards, New Orleans Hornets, Denver Nuggets and the Chicago Bulls.

The team won its first franchise D-League championship during the 2010-2011 season in which it defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in three games. The team broke the league’s attendance record in Game 2 of the Finals with an announced crowd of 14,036 fans. Kevin Young is the team’s coach this year, his second season as head coach. The season runs from November to April.

The Iowa Energy set an all-time regular season franchise attendance record this year by averaging 4,452 fans per game. That figure put the Energy over the 100,000 fan mark for the second consecutive regular season.

The Energy also hold the all-time single game NBA D-League record by hosting 14,012 fans during game two of the 2011 NBA D-League Finals.
