Part-Time Catering Barback
DESCRIPTION
The Catering Barback is responsible for having bars set up & prepped prior to catered events. The Catering Barback will assist with receiving and storage of product and will prepare & stock bars. All equipment will be maintained, stored, cleaned, and organized. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and move bars according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO) on time for catered events. This includes transitioning a bar setup to an alternate location during an event
- Account for all received inventory & product storage while maintaining a clean, safe, & organized bar area
- Report all unsafe working conditions & injuries immediately to manager on duty (MOD)
- Transport all required beverages to the bars for catering events, including, but not limited to, beer, wine, liquor, garnishes, ice, and mixer products

Part-Time Catering Server
DESCRIPTION
The Catering Server is responsible for serving guests in the venue dining areas at catered functions. The Catering Server must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service
- Read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders when servicing a guest event for the purpose of setting up guest events with proper linen, dishware, glassware, and flatware & executing service on the contracted event menu & event timeline
- Responsible for serving meals to guests or replenishing food for buffet service
- Serve beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages. Must check the guest's IDs in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages

Part-Time Guest Services Event Staff
DESCRIPTION
Guest Services Event Staff are on-call, per-event employees who will act as the primary providers of direct service to guests as they are entertained at the Iowa Events Center. They are responsible for providing a safe environment for our guests and ensuring all service needs are met. Guest Services Event Staff will work in positions as needed, including usher, ticket taker, suite staff, and door guards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to all guests.
- Greet and scan tickets as guests enter the building
- Provide directional assistance to guests throughout the facility and usher guests to their seats
- Control and monitor all access to all restricted areas for events, providing a safe and secure environment for the Iowa Events Center. Report actual/suspected violations of IEC policies, procedures, rules, or regulations to your supervisor

Part Time Housekeeping - Building Attendant
DESCRIPTION
The Part Time Housekeeping - Building Attendant is an event-driven support position that works in the areas of housekeeping, room sets, and grounds maintenance at the Iowa Events Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute accurate and timely completion of cleaning checklists
- Before, during and after event cleaning to include removal of trash, spills, vacuuming, etc.
- Responsible for safe use of various supplies including variety of cleaning chemicals, mops, brooms, shovels, and scrapers
- Operate an assortment of equipment including buffers/burnishers, rider sweepers/scrubbers, walk behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, and others as needed

Part-Time Maintenance Technician
DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for various equipment and facility maintenance needs. This position will assist in a variety of non-skilled duties as operations and events require. Accountable to the Lead Engineer, Asst Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for event engineering needs such as, but not limited to, event set-ups & changeovers, laying power, unlocking doors, listening, and responding appropriately to radio calls for engineering assistance
- Performs maintenance and repair of facility doors, hardware, millwork, seats, furniture, rails, staging, fixtures, and associated equipment
- Under general direction, performs maintenance and repair of facility equipment, auxiliary systems, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs
- Participates in routine preventative maintenance on equipment; oils and lubricates fans, motors, pumps, and generators; and cleans screens, strainers, burners, and automatic controls as directed

Part-Time Parking Lot Attendant
DESCRIPTION
Parking Lot Attendant is an on-call, per event employee who assists in direction of customers in and around the Iowa Events Center parking lots during events. This position is responsible for handling a high volume of cash and credit transactions in a responsible manner. This employee must have excellent attendance to ensure the success of the Parking Department during events held at the Iowa Events Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and direct customers entering parking lots
- Communicate parking information to the public
- Accept cash or credit payment. Count back correct change as needed, and use credit machine with personal identification number and building codes
- Monitor lot during events, immediately contacting supervisor as issues arise

Part-Time Security
DESCRIPTION
The Event Security position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security for all events. Special security assignments may be available during non-event days/nights. The security team is a provider of direct service to our guests and must always exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol all assigned locations as directed, stationary and mobile
- Work independently, judging and assessing situations for immediate response
- Responds to emergencies, incidents, accidents, and requests for service as required
- Maintains records, logs, databases, filing systems, and other necessary records/forms as directed by the Security Manager

Part-Time Set Up/Teardown - Building Attendant
DESCRIPTION
The part time Event Set Up/Teardown - Building Attendant is an event-driven support position that works in the areas of show care, room sets, event teardown, and arena conversions at the Iowa Events Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up and teardown of events as directed including staging, tables, chairs, pipe-and-drape, skirting and other event items as required for events in Community Choice Convention Center, EMC Expo Center, Casey's Center, and all other areas of the facility
- Work individually and as a team to complete required projects and tasks contributing to a professional, teamwork atmosphere
- Handle and set folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery poles, drapes and skirting
- Complete room sets accurately and timely
