Part-Time Catering Barback

DESCRIPTION

The Catering Barback is responsible for having bars set up & prepped prior to catered events. The Catering Barback will assist with receiving and storage of product and will prepare & stock bars. All equipment will be maintained, stored, cleaned, and organized. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and move bars according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO) on time for catered events. This includes transitioning a bar setup to an alternate location during an event
  • Account for all received inventory & product storage while maintaining a clean, safe, & organized bar area
  • Report all unsafe working conditions & injuries immediately to manager on duty (MOD)
  • Transport all required beverages to the bars for catering events, including, but not limited to, beer, wine, liquor, garnishes, ice, and mixer products

Part-Time Catering Server

DESCRIPTION

The Catering Server is responsible for serving guests in the venue dining areas at catered functions. The Catering Server must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment.   • Meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service
  • Read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders when servicing a guest event for the purpose of setting up guest events with proper linen, dishware, glassware, and flatware & executing service on the contracted event menu & event timeline

Part-Time Guest Services Event Staff

DESCRIPTION

Guest Services Event Staff are on-call, per-event employees who will act as the primary providers of direct service to guests as they are entertained at the Iowa Events Center. They are responsible for providing a safe environment for our guests and ensuring all service needs are met. Guest Services Event Staff will work in positions as needed, including usher, ticket taker, suite staff, and door guards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to all guests.

The Part Time Housekeeping - Building Attendant is an event-driven support position that works in the areas of housekeeping, room sets, and grounds maintenance at the Iowa Events Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Part-Time Maintenance Technician

DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for various equipment and facility maintenance needs. This position will assist in a variety of non-skilled duties as operations and events require. Accountable to the Lead Engineer, Asst Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for event engineering needs such as, but not limited to, event set-ups & changeovers, laying power, unlocking doors, listening, and responding appropriately to radio calls for engineering assistance
  • Performs maintenance and repair of facility doors, hardware, millwork, seats, furniture, rails, staging, fixtures, and associated equipment
  • Under general direction, performs maintenance and repair of facility equipment, auxiliary systems, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs

Part-Time Parking Lot Attendant

DESCRIPTION

Parking Lot Attendant is an on-call, per event employee who assists in direction of customers in and around the Iowa Events Center parking lots during events. This position is responsible for handling a high volume of cash and credit transactions in a responsible manner. This employee must have excellent attendance to ensure the success of the Parking Department during events held at the Iowa Events Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and direct customers entering parking lots
  • Communicate parking information to the public
  • Accept cash or credit payment. Count back correct change as needed, and use credit machine with personal identification number and building codes

Assistant Ticket Office Manager

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an Assistant Ticket Office Manager who will assist in the management and effective operation of the day-to-day Ticket Office functions, all event-related functions, and settlements. This position will be the primary ticketing contact for the tenant teams and state tournaments.

Building Coordinator

DESCRIPTION

The Building Coordinator is an event-driven support position that provides physical support and oversees projects and employee productivity in the areas of housekeeping, show care, room sets, event teardown, arena conversions, convention services, and grounds maintenance at the Iowa Events Center. The Building Coordinator leads small crews of part-time Building Attendants on tasks and projects and is responsible for daily checklists and labor allocation sheets.

Event Manager

DESCRIPTION

The Event Manager will manage every aspect of their assigned events from the advance planning stages through the end of the event; hire, train, schedule, and supervise all event staff; oversee building security and interact with local public safety officials to ensure events run smoothly; coordinate communication between event staff/security and delegate assignments; and be responsible for and ensure overall customer and lessee satisfaction and experience.
