Building Engineer

DESCRIPTION
The Engineer performs skilled journey level and leadwork duties on the technical operation of critical facility systems, performing facility & equipment maintenance/troubleshooting, and system monitoring under general direction. Employee performs advanced work in the maintenance and repair of steam-generating boilers, electrical generating equipment & auxiliary systems, and centralized air-conditioning systems. Accountable to the Assistant Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs maintenance and repair of facility equipment, auxiliary systems, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment and auxiliary systems; oils and lubricates fans, motors, pumps, and generators, cleans screens, strainers, burners, and automatic controls
- Accurately and timely performs tasks to ensure the highest level of efficiency in the operation returning equipment to operational status
- Troubleshoots and recommends operational methods and procedures

Operations Intern

DESCRIPTION
The Operations Intern works closely with department leadership on a variety of projects, assigned tasks, and shadowing as directed with training emphasis in the areas of facility management, employee oversight, event set-up, event teardown, budgeting, and event management as it relates to the Operations Department. Some additional shadowing in the areas of Operations Administration, Engineering, and I.T/Production may be available as time/availability allows. This temporary opportunity provides the intern with exposure to the day-to-day operations and projects necessary to manage a large event facility. The employee should be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends as their schedule allows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shadow Operations Supervisors on day-to-day facility management before, during, and after events
- Work on assigned tasks/projects as it relates to day-to-day facility management including, but not limited to, event set-up, event management, event teardown, and Arena / Convention Center conversions
- Provide basic task direction to a small group of employees as directed creating a teamwork atmosphere
- Learn about the employee scheduling process for a large team of hourly and temporary staff
- Exposure to department forecasting and the Operation’s budget log.
