Part-Time Electrician

DESCRIPTION
A part-time Electrician will perform Journeyman electrician level and leadwork duties, under general direction, in the technical operation, maintenance and repair of electrical generating equipment, fire and smoke detection system, HVAC, building automation systems, and auxiliary systems throughout the Iowa Events Center and Wells Fargo Arena.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install and maintain show power for exhibit halls and arena power distribution
- Locate, troubleshot, analyze, and collect electrical-related problems
- Assist with event electrical needs and troubleshoot issues (concerts, trade shows, etc.)
- Obtains Journeyman license
- Work flexible hours based on availability

Part-Time Engineer

DESCRIPTION
An Engineer will under general direction, perform skilled journey level and leadwork duties on the technical operation of critical facility systems, performing facility and equipment maintenance/troubleshooting, and system monitoring. Performing advanced work in the maintenance and repair of steam-generating boilers, electrical generating equipment and auxiliary systems, and centralized air-conditioning systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform maintenance and repair of facility equipment, auxiliary systems and minor electrical and plumbing repairs, recommending methods and procedures.
- Assist full-time Engineers in maintenance of facility equipment
- Assist with event needs and work orders

Part-Time Event Setup Laborer

A part-time Operations Event Setup Laborer (Building Attendant) is an event-driven support position that works in areas of room sets, event teardown, and arena conversions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help in the conversion of events as directed including: risers, chairs, tables, stages, pipe and drape, and other event items as needed for events at the facilities
- Operate an assortment of equipment including: forklifts, pallet jacks, and more
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients

Part-Time Guest Services Attendant

DESCRIPTION
A Guest Service Attendant is an on-call, per event employee who will act as primary provider of direct service to guests as they are entertained at the Iowa Events Center and Wells Fargo Arena. They assist in providing a safe environment for our guests and ensure all service needs are met. Guest Service Attendants will work in positions as needed including: Usher, Ticket Taker, Suite Staff, and Door Guards.

Part-Time Housekeeping

DESCRIPTION
A part-time Operations Housekeeping employee (Building Attendant) is an event-driven support position that works in areas of housekeeping and show care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute accurate and timely completion of cleaning checklists and before, during, and after event cleaning to include removal of trash, spills, vacuuming, etc.
- Operate an assortment of equipment including: buffers/burnishers, rider sweepers/scrubbers, walk behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, and others as needed

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for various equipment and facility maintenance needs. These may include event set-ups and changeovers, facility equipment repairs, preventative maintenance on equipment, and more.

Parking Attendant is a per event employee who assists in direction of customers in and around the Iowa Events Center parking lots during events. The position is responsible for handling cash and credit transactions in a reasonable manner.

Part-Time Phone Operator

DESCRIPTION
A Receptionist is a per event employee who represents the Iowa Events Center both in person and on the phone as initial contact for prospective clients, the general pubic, and company inquiries. The receptionist will also assist guests with event questions, information, and route necessary calls to appropriate personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and route incoming in-person and phone requests for the administrative office
- Provide(s) assistance to the public and clients with questions or routes to the appropriate department
- Research and resolve customer service issues during events in an efficient and courteous manner

Part-Time OVG Hospitality Opportunities

Bar Back

Description
A Bar Back is responsible for backing up the bartender by restocking products to ensure the bartenders stay fully stocked during events while ensuring all policies and procedures regarding alcohol dispensing are followed. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for stocking products for the bar including N/A beverages, alcoholic beverages, icing wells, sweeping and moping the bar, moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs. Drafting beer and pouring wine for guest orders, running supplies for bartenders back up fruit, napkins, cups, utensils and stirrers
- Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event
- Maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas utilizing sanitation procedures, this includes mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans and keeping closet areas clear of debris and clutter

Description
A Cashier utilizes a cash register and accepts payment. Prepares and serves concession items to guests. Prepares and pours beverages and serves them to guests. Ensures quality of food presentation. Must be able to maintain excellent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct the cash register sales by entering the orders and completing the transaction
- Responsible for maintaining stock and supply levels, and communicating to the Concessions Stand Manger of low stock items
- Listening and responding to customer requests or concerns
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work space including but not limited to disposal of garbage & cleaning dishes

Concessions Cook

Description
A Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Portion control, food waste and sanitation are additional areas that the Cook must be aware of while operating in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for cooking and packaging food product which is prepared to order or kept warm until sold
- Receives verbal orders from the front counter staff for food product requirements for guest orders
- Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items. Food must be fresh and of high quality when served to the guests
- Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.

Responsibilities
- Must demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers and uniform standards
- Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described
- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol
- Responsible to learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available, and be able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests
